Coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex set up Apgar more reliably with two things: the Apgar skill and the docs MCP server. The skill tells the agent what Apgar is, which pages to read for each task, and which mistakes leave a release unevaluated without an error. The MCP server lets the agent search and read these docs. Install both.

Install the skill

The skills CLI finds the skill on this site, asks which agents to install it for, and installs it into the current project. Add -g to install it for every project. The skill checks on each use whether a newer version is published here, and uses that one when it is. To update the installed copy:

Connect the docs MCP server

The server is at https://docs.useapgar.dev/mcp and needs no authentication. It can search these docs and read any page.
Run /mcp in a Claude Code session to confirm the connection.
Other clients connect to the same URL as a streamable HTTP server.

Ask your agent

Paste this into your coding agent after installing the skill:

Markdown versions

Every page is also served as Markdown: append .md to its URL. llms.txt lists every page, and llms-full.txt contains all of them in one file. The menu at the top of each page copies the page as Markdown or opens it in ChatGPT or Claude.
